Identify drawing elements, including part views and sections. Describe the fundamentals of drawing interpretation. Recognize the role that drawings play in product realization. Calculate the position and profile tolerances.Explain how to properly select the datum reference frames.Interpret and explain the application of geometric symbols on drawings.Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the fundamental geometric concepts and the topics contained in the ASME Y14.5 Standard. It features video-based sessions and real-world examples taught by ASME’s expert Instructor including several case studies based on industry standards, with example calculations and interactive quizzes.īy participating in this learning path, you will learn how to successfully: The ASME Y14.5-2018 - GD&T Fundamentals (On Demand) course provides the skills needed to interpret engineering designs and help troubleshoot mistakes that occur during the manufacturing process. It includes quizzes, drawing assignments and a drawing packet showing five detail drawings and an assembly drawing for the parts of a Trolley Wheel. The Drawing Interpretation (GD&T)course covers the majority of information required to understand basic mechanical two-dimensional engineering drawings. The information in this Standard shows standardized methods for applying dimensions and tolerances through a language of letters, numbers, and special symbols. The Y14.5-2018 Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Overview course allows a high-level overview of the contents of the ASME Y14.5 - 2018 Dimensioning and Tolerancing Standard. This official ASME learning path, comprised of three self-study eLearning courses accessible via ASME’s Learning Hub, is based on the latest ASME Y14.5 Standard and makes GD&T concepts easy to learn and apply. These good design best practices are directly related to a product’s innovation, beauty and success. Establishing uniform practices for stating and interpreting GD&T on engineering drawings and related documents is a critical component of the manufacturing process. The ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing Standard is considered as the authoritative guideline for the design language of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and is essential in ensuring that drawing information and symbols are being interpreted and communicated properly.

I have found that you should not need to add more than 5 oz of toner to fully tint the liner. There will become a point that no matter how much toner you add it will not darken the color any more. I continue to add 1 oz at a time until there is no change in color and then you know the bed liner is fully colored. If it darkened then I add another oz and see if it darkened any more. Then I add 1 oz and shake it to see if it got any darker. I usually start with 2 oz, shack the bottle see how dark the color is. If the single stage is a good color match I will use that because the bed liner will be a little bit glossier when completed but if the single stage does not match well then I will use the base coat because this will be the easiest to make match.Īfter I pick the closest starting color I will then start mixing it in the bed liner (without using any hardener). When I am trying to match a color I will mix up 4 oz of base and 4 oz of single stage of the same color and see how different they look. Also, most paint reps will tell you that you have to mix single stage as your toner but I have found that some time using base coat will give you a closer match. One of the big things that seem to effect the color is when the paint has pearl in it, it always lightens the bed liner. I have found that you always have to play with the color you are mixing in if you want it to match close. I have used a lot of the u-pol raptor liner tinted to match a lot of different colors.
